Tableshed is an app that enables local families and farmers to view how water moves through their yard. This gives our rural community the ability to know what to plant and where without having to suffer the financial loss that often accompanies trial-and-error planting.
v1 is live; v2 is in the works and adds a rayshading layer that will enable users to view how sunlight moves across their yard

Peace Garden: built in partnership with the Community of Christ Peacemakers
2026 Harvest Metrics: Two 4×10 ft raised beds, one trellised and one with melon vines extending about a foot beyond it, produced an estimated 180 lb of tomatoes, melons, and eggplant in 2026, roughly 1.6 lb per square foot, and the harvest was given away to the community.
Spring 2026: We worked alongside the CoC Peacemakers to build a community garden at the CoC Lamoni campus. Kids learned about Hugelkultur (the "Lasagna" gardening method) in which different biodegradable materials are layered to improve drainage and structure from the bottom up as they decompose. The kids learned how to mix their own soil with vermiculite, compost, peat moss, and topsoil, and eventually planted crops they grew themselves from seed.
Summer 2026: The garden required almost no maintenance. It was watered only at planting and never again, yet it flourished throughout the season. A volunteer stopped by weekly to weed, and the plants did the rest. The layered soil structure held moisture through Iowa's summer heat, exactly as the hugelkultur metod is designed to do. Because the garden was built right next to the playground, kids
visited it all summer long as curious observers, watching the plants grow week by week alongside their play.
Fall 2026: The Peacemaker kids are reaping what they sowed earlier this year! They and the local community have enjoyed the watermelon, canteloupe, tomatoes, eggplant, and herbs from the garden.
